Damages for cyclist knocked from bike on a roundabout
A full liability admission from the third-party insurer following an accident on a roundabout. The third party-driver failed to observe our client riding his bicycle on the roundabout and simply pulled out in front of him. Our client sustained a cauda equina injury, which manifested itself some months after the collision but was argued to have been accelerated by the road traffic collision.
Following extreme back pain and sensory loss our client presented to St Georges Hospital where he received emergency surgery to his lower spine. The outcome following surgery was favourable, with a significant reduction in pain and near normal neurological presentation.
Despite this, our client required significant time off of work and was unable to manage many of his daily activities.
An early admission was sort from the third-party insurer following the disclosure of dash cam footage obtained by Aspire Law illustrating the car pulling out in front of our client. Agreement was obtained from the third-party insure for rehabilitation and funding for that was arranged. The claim settled despite difficult causation arguments and the client successfully returned to work.
