£17 million for tetraplegic injured in a Road Traffic Accident

Aspire Law was instructed to bring a claim for spinal cord injury after our client became tetraplegic following a catastrophic road traffic accident.

We were able to make contact with the insurers within days of being instructed and secured an interim payment that allowed our client to continue her rehabilitation at The Wellington, a private spinal rehabilitation hospital in London.

Whilst our client was undergoing intensive rehabilitation at The Wellington, we liaised with the private case manager, next of kin and clinicians to locate suitable accommodation that would fully meet our client’s needs. This ensured our client had somewhere accessible to live upon discharge where she could continue to maintain the gains she had made during rehabilitation.

To support our client with her transition from rehabilitation to independent living, we also sourced and implemented a care, therapy and equipment package so that all her daily needs could be met, allowing her to begin to rebuild her life. 

As a result of early interventions, intensive rehabilitation, a workable support package and key equipment, we were able to settle our client’s case in 2020 for £17 million. This settlement is thought to be the highest settlement for an adult with tetraplegia.
